Elina Brotherus lives and works in Helsinki, Finland and Avallon, France. She has an MA degree in Photography from the University of Art and Design Helsinki, in 2000, and a MSc in Chemistry from the University of Helsinki, in 1997. Elina Brotherus' work has been given prominence in numerous art and photography books and reviews. Her new monograph Carpe 'Fucking Diem' was published in November 2015 by Kehrer Verlag. Previously she has released five monographs. Im not too sure whether I like her work or not. It is very interesting and different. I have chosen this photographer so I could do my work based on hers. In my sketch book, (and on my website under 'interior and exterior'), you'll see that I have taken my own photographs of my bedroom. Her photographs above are of a bed room or more than one.

Thomas Ruff was born 10th February 2958 and is a German photographer, who lives in Düsseldorf, Germany. He also works there and has been described as "a master of the edited and reimagined images". Thomas Ruff shares a studio on Düsseldorf's Hansaallee, with some other German photographers. Photographers like Laurenz Berges, Andreas Gursky and Axel Hütte. There also is a gallery in the basement! I love Thomas Ruffs work as its so simple. I like simple photography because I think theres something artistic about it. I have done some photographs in the style of Thomas Ruff, which you will find in my sketch book.
Thomas Struth was born in 1954 and is a German photographer. He is best know for his Museum photographs, family portraits and 1970s black and white photographs of the streets of Düsseldorf (Germany) and New York (US). I really like his work! I haven't got photographs like this my self but I hope to in the near future.
Bernhard Becher, also known as Becher, was born August 20, 1931 and died June 22, 2007. Hilla Becher was born September 2, 1934 and died October 10, 2015. They were both German conceptual artists and photographers working together as two. They are best know for their extensive series of photographic images, or typologies, of industrial buildings and structures, often organised in grids. They have been awarded the Erasmus prize and the Hasselblad Award. There also the founders of what has come to be known as the 'Becher school', or the 'Düsseldorf school'. I like there work; I think it's very creative. I like the way they photograph different buildings that look similar, and put them into a collage together. I have done some work very similar to theres. I had a look at their work and decided to take some building photos and put them into a collage. \ Here are my photographs and collages. To improve, I could add more images into one collage.
Andraes Gursky was born in January 1955, in Germany. He is a German photographer and is a professor at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Germany. He is mostly know for his 'large format' prints and landscape colour photographs. Andraes Gursky shares a studio with Laurenz Beges, Tomas Ruff and Axel Hütte, in Düsseldorf. Before the 1990s, Gursky did not manipulate his photographs. Since then, he has started to manipulate, enhance and edit his photographs and creating art of spaces larger than the camera can photograph. He takes more than one photo of the same thing, in different places, and puts them together to make a larger photograph. My opinion:
My opinion on Gurskys' work is sort of unknown. I am not sure whether I like his work or not. Some pieces of his work interest me, in the way that he manipulates his images to make a much larger image, however, I sometimes find his work boring. I do like the colours throughout his work, how they stand out. Juergen Teller was born January 28, 1964 and is a German artist, fine-art and fashion photographer. He studied at the Bayerische Staatskehranstalt für photography in Muich, Germany, in 1984 - 1986. At the age of 22, he moved to London (1986). I am not too sure whether I like his work or not. It is very interesting in the way that the images are unusual but I just don't know whether I like his work or not. His work looks very old fashioned. That is one reason for me liking Juergen Tellers' work.
Joseph Cornell was born on December 24th, 1903 and died on December 29th, 1972. He was an American artist and film maker, and influenced by the Surrealists. He was also a an avant-garde experimental filmmaker. He was largely self-taught in his artistic efforts, and improvised his own original style incorporating cast-off and discarded artefacts.
Dan Montford does double exposure photography. double exposure photography is the art of crossing over two images, to capture the effect of a graphic design. In photography, a double exposure is the adding multiple of layers on top of each other, to make one single image. To do this, you blend the two (or three) photographs together using photoshop. Dan Mountford is a British student studying Graphic Design, at the University of Brighton. He also works with photography, illustrations, Editorial and Motion Design. He has worked with the brands like The Economist, EMI Records, Urban Outfitters, The Barbican, Le Monde and the New Scientist Magazines. Dan Mantfords work relates to mine as I have done some double exposures of my own. To have a look at these, look in my sketchbook.
